What business-critical applications have to do with lego bricks
Cloud solutions
As a Cloud Consultant, you can be widely deployed. Joost-Jan himself has a background as a Developer and is now a Software Architect with a strong focus on the Cloud. He helps customers with the transition to the (Azure) Cloud. What strikes him is that customers are increasingly coming to him with business-related issues and not so much just directly from IT. “Projects that we tackle from TeamValue are often not the easiest, but they are the most challenging”. The “technical trick” is well known to us; it is increasingly about a change in process or change in human behavior. Our name says it all, that's where we offer the most value!
“My goal is to enable teams and the business to use cloud technology. It has to work for them. '
We help organizations from on-premise to native cloud solutions. But that is not the only thing we do. More often, it's about how we do something, rather than what we do. This is where the connection between IT and the human aspect comes into play. Call us change agents, business transformers or nerds, we're proud of it.
Automate everything?
Many organizations have to deal with business processes that depend on systems that are continuously up and running. We call that business-critical applications that you need to be able to rely on 24/7. Imagine selling a product or providing a service that requires registration and/or signing before you can give anything. You are dependent on technology here. If this does not work, your process and thus your services will soon go down the drain. Micro Service Architecture is a solution that we often use for this purpose. The cloud is available anytime, anywhere. We ensure that as many human actions/corrections as possible are limited, we automate tests and we ensure a 'zero touch deploy'.
Automate everything so you have time for real business transformation! Actually, we also ensure that not just anyone with a “lego brick” can modify or remove, we only do that from the source. This forces people to think carefully about a change and what possible consequences it may have. We live in a time where time-to-market is becoming increasingly important (and shorter!) is, but in addition to making the right building bricks, you must also take into account the safety and maintainability of the same building bricks. This keeps my work exciting and no day is the same.
People are used to building things, but often not used to picking up 'the book'. The biggest kick is delivering a project together with the team and they ultimately build on it themselves.
Cloud Consultant: building with lego bricks
In addition to Cloud Consultant, Joost-Jan is also a real family man. He used to play with Lego bricks himself, and soon his son too. In this, he also sometimes makes a comparison with his work. Actually, the BizDevOps platform is a lot like that. They are all like building bricks. You start with nothing, build a technical solution with your team, and when you “put the last bricks on it”, you can go live. We can say that Joost-Jan has turned his hobby into a profession. Where customer applications can often be business-critical, it is very important for Joost-Jan that he feels at home in a team and can really make an impact on a great project.
The power of the right 'stone'
“In my entire life, I've never really applied.” It's all about the right network, showing where you can create value. That applies to me, but also to TeamValue. We work a lot with Microsoft and customers often find us based on references.
“It's great to be part of a growing organization that dares to do things differently from the rest”.
We are looking for people who are part of our team, who are a real match. If you master the technique and you don't feel at home in a team, it won't work out after all. We value character over skill! That's what we think about it, we look beyond IT. After all, we also do that with our customers. For example, I spent a day at the office in Zwolle to see if the atmosphere and way of working suited me. After that, I decided with full conviction to join the company.
The team
“When I joined, I started at the same time as my colleague. Denise. I work 4 days a week and one day I can be found at home as a family man. 3 days I work for a client and 1 day I work from our office as standard and the entire team is together. Sometimes I work for a project, other times I spend my time on our cool tool TeamNow. Working together in this team costs me no effort, that comes very naturally. We learn from each other. For example, where I bring structure, I learn from the creative minds. A golden combination'.
“My world consists mainly of technology. That's why I like the fact that I'm now working at a company with Digital Business, but Human Results. '
My dot on the horizon? As a Cloud Solution Architect, lead a nice big project from concept to implementation. I'm already doing that, but you always have varying degrees and challenges in that. I certainly don't have to be bored in an ever-changing IT world. 🙂
We are looking for new colleagues who want to build business-critical applications with us. How good are you with lego? Apply now the vacancy Azure Solution Developer or Azure Solutions Architect.
