The first hundred days in a new job are a thrill. You meet new people, dive into unfamiliar projects, and slowly discover if an organization is truly the right fit for you. For Lars, Cloud Consultant at TeamValue, those first 100 days were, above all… exactly what he’d hoped for and more! Naturally, we wanted to hear all about it, so we sat down with Lars for a chat!

Part of the Ohana from day one

That sense of belonging didn't take weeks to kick in—it was there from the start. Lars jumped right in, got to know his colleagues, and quickly realized that TeamValue is a place where people are genuinely interested in what you do and are eager to help you create maximum value. For clients and for each other.

Diving straight into the deep end (and it felt great)

No long onboarding or months of watching from the sidelines. Lars was put on a serious task right away. “My first project was one that had been highly anticipated for a long time. It immediately gave me the feeling that I could add real value.”

Those first few weeks were all about introductions, ticking off the ‘Hero list,’ finding his feet, and most importantly: putting his expertise to work.

Working on Baazzu and Floorganise

Lars spent the majority of his time working on Baazzu (back then known as IntegrationHub). An internal product that was later implemented in the Microsoft Marketplace. It was something he hadn't worked with before. “Mastering the unknown is exactly what I find so enjoyable and rewarding.”

Towards the end of his first 100 days, he also wrapped up the Floorganise project. It was an assignment that tied in perfectly with his previous experience, with a clear technical focus: building a new platform with a strong emphasis on Private Networking and Build/Release agents. The result? A platform that has since been delivered and is ready for the client to manage independently. The client is thrilled with the outcome.

Growing as a consultant

Beyond the technical side of things, Lars intentionally focused on his personal development. In the beginning, that mostly revolved around questions like: How do I position myself? And how do I communicate effectively with all stakeholders? This was especially crucial at Baazzu, as stakeholder availability was a potential risk. Staying aligned, managing expectations, and taking ownership were key.

At Floorganise, the focus shifted to a different side of the job: acting as a consultant. It required sharp coordination and clearly explaining complex topics so everyone involved could get on board with the decisions being made. “What surprised me in a good way was the trust Floorganise placed in me to shape this together. It gave me the chance to apply my expertise and grow further in my role as a consultant.”

The value of being in the office together

Despite his great time at the client and his trip to Japan, Lars realized he missed the office too.

It might sound like a cliché, but those moments together—brainstorming, laughing, grabbing coffee—are what truly make TeamValue for him. TeamValue.

Expectations? Blown away

Looking back, Lars is more than positive about his first 100 days. “I expected people might be a bit more to themselves, which is something you see more often with consultants. But the opposite is true. At TeamValue, everyone is genuinely interested in each other. Colleagues lean on one another, share knowledge, and want to bring out the best in everyone. That makes the work not just strong in terms of content, but also personally enjoyable.”

Why TeamValue?

When Lars looks back on his first 100 days, his feeling is clear. TeamValue is a place where you truly belong from the start. You work on solid projects, get trust and responsibility, and notice that your contribution matters—both internally and with clients. Another thing that stood out to him is how normal it is here to speak your mind, even when it’s a bit uncomfortable. Having the ‘real conversation’ isn’t just a nice slogan here; it’s daily practice. Colleagues hold each other accountable, challenge one another, and want to improve together. For Lars, it felt like coming home.

And then there’s the TeamValue heron. It started with a legendary Volvo grille from Anton and has since become an essential part of the culture. “I thought it was a coincidence,” Lars laughs, “until I almost hit one in Zwolle and even saw one among the sakura in Japan.” In short: there’s no escaping the heron here!
