Our approach
DevOps Capability Assessment
We started with a thorough scan of the situation using the DevOps Capability Assessment. This revealed some areas for improvement, such as the need for more attention to automation, security and insight into Azure costs.
Quarterly roadmap
Our Azure Solutions Architect developed a roadmap, aligned with Berenschot's strategic goals. Each quarter focused on a specific theme, such as the introduction of a Digital Factory and cleaning up resources.
Berenschot is an independent consultancy firm with around 500 employees that supports public and private organizations with social challenges such as sustainability, digitization, healthcare transformation and the energy transition. Within the Business & Data Solutions (BDS) team, around 10 FTE are working on developing data and AI products for consultancy projects. The internal IT department (approximately 8 FTE) manages the IT environment.
Hands-on guidance
Every week, we are on location at Berenschot for 8 hours to provide targeted support and advice to the BDS and IT team. This is how we help implement CI/CD, cloud security and DevOps.
Data Governance Workshop
Together with business and IT stakeholders, we organized a workshop on data quality and compliance, introducing Microsoft Purview.
Second assessment
After implementing the first roadmap phases, we carried out another DevOps Capability Assessment. The risks were significantly reduced and there was clear growth in Agile software development and infrastructure.

In addition to the Trusted Advisory Service, Berenschot also focuses on Azure monitoring and management via Bizure. In doing so, they combine strategic advice with hands-on support. Thanks to Bizure as a CSP partner, managing licenses and Azure consumption is more efficient and transparent. In addition, they reserve 1% of that consumption for an innovation fund, with which they will continue to invest structurally in innovation.
