Not only because we love football, but especially because we believe in giving back to the region where we work, live and live. One of the initiatives we've loved for years is Playing for Success. A program that helps young people grow.

Playing for Success: Learning with a WOW Factor

Playing for Success helps children thrive in a way you don't learn in school. It is an after-school program that lets children shine again through sports and education. It is often about students who need some extra help: children who are a bit insecure, have a fear of failure or who could use a boost in their self-confidence. At the PEC Zwolle stadium — a bounty location — they will be taught for ten weeks with that coveted “Wow factor”. They do exciting, playful assignments and get positive experiences outside the regular classroom.

The result? Their motivation and self-confidence grows by the week. That is exactly the magic of Playing for Success: learning becomes fun and children discover that there is much more to them than they thought.

Celebrating freedom at PEC Zwolle — FC Twente

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, the time had come: TeamValue, together with 30 children from Playing for Success and their supervisors, set out to PEC Zwolle — FC Twente. And this wasn't just a competition. The duel was entirely about 80 years of freedom. Exactly eight decades ago, in April 1945, Zwolle was liberated from the German occupation. The city owed much of that liberation to one man: the Canadian soldier Léo Major, who single-handedly managed to protect Zwolle from destruction.

As a tribute, PEC Zwolle played this match in a special “Leo Major Liberation Shirt” and the stadium was shrouded in memories of 1945. A huge banner hung in the stadium with the text:“The courage of yesterday, secured our freedom today.”

On the field, in the spotlights

At halftime, it was the children's turn. With signs that said “Zwolle 80 years of freedom 1945—2025”, they walked proudly along the field. First in front of the main grandstand, then in front of the goal. A lovely sight. The combination of sport, history and togetherness impressed: on the audience, on the children and on us.

Making a difference together

At TeamValue, we love initiatives that improve the world, and we also know that sometimes impact lies in very simple things: going to a competition together, having a chat, patting a child on the back afterwards. At TeamValue, we find this social commitment very important.
